Hawk Walks & Adopt a Bird

Hawk Walks

The Hawk Walk is the perfect introduction for adults & children to experience the Ancient Art of Falconry. The Hawks will "follow on" across the fields as you walk through the countryside and will glide with ease to land on your gloved fist when raised.
We will be walking around a 350 acre organic working farm where there is plenty of wildlife to see from Deer, Foxes and many species of wild Birds of Prey. The groups are kept fairly small, to ensure everyone gets plenty of hands on time with the Birds.
On arrival at the location we will have a brief chat about the Hawks and you'll be given a quick demonstration and reminder on how to stand and call the Hawk to you safely. The rest is up to you and this is where the fun starts. Guests will have the opportunity to see the hawks flying too and fro as they follow us whilst we walk. There will be a small opportunity to handle the birds whilst on the walk and also at the end. The whole experience lasts about 60 - 90 minutes (depending on group size) and during that time we'll talk about the Birds flying and hunting techniques and answer any questions you may have. (Please be aware that Birds of Prey eat raw meat. Latex gloves are provided for those who are a bit squeamish).

Adopt a Bird

OK, so you've met our birds and fell in love with one of our family. That's OK, it happens!

Caring for a Bird of prey whether it's a Little Owl, Barn owl, Eagle owl or Harris Hawk, takes a lot of time, effort and of course money. Each has a specific and expensive diet. This will consist of day old chicks, rats, mice and quail. Obviously we can't pop down to the local pet shop or supermarket for this food, so have to source it from specialist suppliers. Add this to the time needed to train, fly and maintain their enclosures- and you can see why we appreciate your help!

You can now adopt any of our birds for an annual fee of just £35.00. Perfect as a gift for someone or as a treat for yourself! Payment by PayPal.
In return, you will receive:

A certificate of Adoption
A photograph of your adopted bird
An information sheet on the species
A keyring of your adopted bird
An invitation to meet, handle and possibly even fly your chosen bird!
