OwlOccasions visit to Bristol Uni
07th July 2022
Lyn, I and the birds (Loki the Barn Owl and Billy the Boobook Owl) had a great time at Bristol University School of Biological Science today.
We talked about Owls and their hunting specialities and how they hunt, catch, eat and digest their food to leave a pellet which gives us information about the owl's diet and prey animals. Loki flew the entire lab length several times to return promptly to my fist on more than one occasion! Brilliantly demonstrating his flying ability.
We had some picture opportunities for unusual perches on which the Owls were happy to pose including a lion skull, an elephant skull and a dog skull. Many selfies were also taken as usual making the birds real film stars!
